At ClarifyRead, our mission is to use technology to make reading and learning more accessible, engaging and responsive to the individual. We’re bringing education and technology together to help learners better understand written information, develop their skills and become more confident and independent, while giving teachers and families greater insight into their progress.

We want to help create fairer opportunities in education by improving the way learners access, understand and engage with written information. ClarifyRead supports reading and comprehension by helping learners work through unfamiliar vocabulary, complex language and challenging texts, while developing comprehension, inference and reading skills over time.

As part of that mission, we want to play a meaningful role in closing the attainment gap for pupils with SEND, so that additional needs do not mean fewer opportunities to learn and achieve.

No. ClarifyRead is a reading, comprehension and accessibility platform for a broad range of learners. Supporting pupils with SEND is an important part of our mission and design approach, within a wider commitment to reading and learning.

Is ClarifyRead just a text simplification tool?

ClarifyRead brings reading tools together with comprehension, reading practice and learner development. Simplify is one way to support understanding, alongside Words, Read and Pictures.

What changes when I switch Sensory View?

Calm uses softer backgrounds and more restrained visual accents. Enhanced adds stronger colour differentiation, clearer control outlines and more prominent interaction cues. The content, layout and functionality stay the same, and your choice is remembered on this browser where storage is available.

Are the reading examples the live product?

The reading example on this homepage is an illustrative preview with prepared text. It introduces the purpose of the core tools. It is separate from the ClarifyRead application and does not process documents or record learning progress.
